We have an amazing team of General Practitioners, Nurses and Support Staff so you can have all your primary healthcare needs met in a friendly and supportive environment.

Meet our Doctors

Our general practitioners provide comprehensive, family‑centred care for all ages. We support you with preventive health and screenings, management of acute and long‑term conditions, child health and immunisations, women’s and men’s health, mental health support, and ongoing care planning. Care is coordinated with our nursing and allied health team for timely, connected support.

Naresh has been at the Medical Centre since 2011. Prior to this he worked as a General Practitioner in Hamilton for 22 years. He works at the Medical Centre 4 days per week and enjoys the community feel of Morrinsville. His Interests included building and renovating.

Dr Michel Arnephy

MBChB FRNZCGP

Originally from the Seychelles, Michel graduated from Otago Medical School in 2006. He has worked as a General Practitioner in various locations around New Zealand before settling in Morrinsville from Auckland in 2018. He works 4 days per week at the Medical Centre including one morning per week in the Kai a te Mata Marae Clinic. Interests include family and sports. Michel is married with 3 children who keep him very busy.

Dominique returned to Morrinsville in 2018 after working in various practices around the Waikato. She enjoys all aspects of general practice especially minor surgery and palliative care. She works 4 days per week at the Medical Centre including one morning in the Kai a te Mata Marae Clinic. Outside of work she enjoys spending time in the Kaimai Ranges and cycling.

Gillian moved here from Christchurch in late 2019. She enjoys working with the Medical Centre team and is here 3 days per week. She is married with 2 adult children and 2 gorgeous Grandchildren. Outside of work she enjoys gardening and is very involved with her church.

Dr Olof Rydin

MD FRNZCGP Specialist in Family & Emergency Medicine

Born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden, Olof obtained his medical degree at Uppsala University.  He completed dual training in emergency and family medicine and then went on to work as an ED consultant.  After trying life as a GP in New Zealand in Matamata for a year, Olof moved here permanently in 2020 with his family and has been at Morrinsville Medical Centre ever since.  Olof works 4 days a week and enjoys the wide variety of patients in a rural setting.  Outside of work, he enjoys family time and is an avid tennis player.

Dr Leah Porima

MBChB Cert Paeds

Dr Porima grew up in the Waikato and completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland.  Leah worked at Waikato Hospital for 3 years before beginning her general practice specialist training in 2025.  Her whakapapa is to Waikato-Tainui, and she is on an ongoing journey to deepen her understanding of te ao Māori.  Outside of work, Leah enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, travelling and art.  She currently works 3 days per week at the Medical Centre and is looking forward to working with the Morrinsville Community.

What if I want to give feedback or make a complaint?

We welcome any feedback you have for us.  Suggestions or kind words are always appreciated.  If you want to complain about something we want to hear about it. Please put the details in writing, email pm@mormc.co.nz  or call and ask to speak to the practice manager.

How do I enroll with MyIndici patient portal?

You will need to come into the Reception desk and bring your drivers licence or photo ID with you.  You will also need to have your own email address that has not been used for anyone else registered with MyIndici.

Who should I book my appointment with, a GP or a Nurse?

Book with the Nurse or Nurse Prescriber if you have:

  • Cough, cold, sinus or sore throat that is not going away
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Eczema, a skin rash or sores
  • Conjunctivitis

Most other illness, injuries or medication check-ups will need a GP appointment.  If you needs a drivers licence medical please book with the GP.

For any queries please check with Reception on 07 889 5126 and they will guide you to the best appointment for your situation.

What if there are no appointments available?

If you are acutely unwell and feel you need to be seen the same day please advise Reception when you call and they will arrange for a Nurse to speak to you and triage for an urgent appointment.

Do I have to make an appointment?

Yes, in most cases unless you have been previously advised by us that you don’t.  Always try to ring us first.

Can a clinician travel to my home to see me?

House visits can be arranged by the Nurse or GP for appropriate patient circumstances.
